Brokers Directly Supported

We support all brokers that offer access to electronic transaction data

Many clients ask us whether we can get data directly from their brokers.
We've compiled a list of most frequently asked about brokers.
This list is not exhaustive.  If in doubt, ask us, we most likely support your broker too!
If you are a broker and wish to be added to this list, please email brokersupport@edaytradertax.com

Note 1
Query transactions for whole calendar year date range (or one month of data at a time, as appropriate with your broker), select all, copy, and paste into (in order of our preference: MS Excel, Notepad, Wordpad, MS Word) .  Save file(s) and email to us.
Repeat with the month of January of following year (for wash sale purposes - non-MTM clients only)

Note 2
Datek/Ameritrade - displays only one month at a time, will have to save at least 13 files one by one.  Caution: for active traders, one month may be split into more than one page.  Need to pay close attention to see if multiple pages are indicated in the history.

Note 3
client's own Excel worksheet
We require the following columns, does not matter in what order:
Transaction Date
Symbol
indication of Buy or Sell, Short or Cover
indication of Long or Short trade
total amount of transaction, including commission (or ability to derive this amount from other columns)

Note 4
Interactive Brokers
We work with the "annual summary" that IB makes available for the whole year in about early February of each year.  In the absence of this report, we are able to work with monthly statements, but it's more time consuming.

Note 5
MBtrading, The Navigator platform, pre September 2001 only
cleared via ICS, no electronic access to data available, transactions must be re-typed manually!

Note 6
TerraNova (RealTick)
go to "Reports and Download" data section of the website.
Select date range (calendar year)  and select "CSV standard" radio button - not QIF or Detailed CSV.
Save report to your hard drive.  Rename file on your hard drive to prevent getting overwritten in the next step.
Repeat for month of January of following year.  Email us both files.

Note 7
Penson
